PLC Programming

PLC programming (Siemens, Owen, Schneider, Delta) in TIA Portal, CODESYS, Owen Logic. Logic development and refinement, import substitution, SCADA integration. Astana, Kazakhstan.

PLC (programmable logic controller) programming is the "brain" of any automation system. The quality of the program determines how stably the equipment runs, how the system responds to faults, and how much resources it saves. Atlas Scada has been developing, refining and supporting programs for controllers from leading manufacturers since 2015.

We don't write code just to "make it work somehow" — we write clear, documented code protected against abnormal situations: with emergency interlocks, fault diagnostics and a convenient operator interface. Such a program can be maintained and developed not only by its author.

Controllers and development environments

  • Siemens — LOGO!, S7-1200, S7-1500 (TIA Portal, Step 7 environments).
  • Schneider Electric — Modicon M221/M241/M340 (Unity Pro/EcoStruxure).
  • Owen — PLC110/160/210, PR200 (CODESYS, Owen Logic).
  • Delta and other controllers — as required by the project.

What the service includes

  • Developing the control algorithm based on the facility's technology and the technical specification.
  • Writing and debugging the program, configuring inputs/outputs and I&C instrumentation.
  • Implementing emergency interlocks, protections, monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Configuring the operator panel (HMI) and data exchange with SCADA.
  • Documenting the program and handing over the source code to the customer.

How we ensure code reliability

  • We structure the program: clear variable names, division into functional blocks, comments.
  • We build in handling of abnormal situations: sensor failure, loss of communication, parameter out of range.
  • We test the logic on a test bench and in simulation mode before going on site, which reduces commissioning time.

Refinement and recovery

  • Auditing an existing project and recovering the logic of operating equipment.
  • Making changes, adding functions, modes and interlocks.
  • Reconstructing the algorithm from the facility if the program source code has been lost.

Import substitution

A dedicated area is porting logic from TIA Portal (Siemens) to CODESYS (Owen and others) while preserving functionality. This is a frequent request amid restrictions on imported equipment: we help replace the controller and environment without loss of control quality and with minimal rework of the panel.

Integration and remote dispatch

We set up data exchange via Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC UA and other protocols, transmit data to SCADA and to our own Atlas dispatch server — so you can view equipment parameters and control it remotely around the clock.

Where we program controllers

  • Boiler houses and individual heating substations (IHS).
  • Water supply and fire-fighting pumping stations.
  • Supply-and-exhaust ventilation, air conditioning, heating.
  • Fire automation and building engineering systems.

Why Atlas Scada

  • We program what we designed and assembled ourselves — the logic accounts for the real layout of the panel and the facility.
  • We write maintainable, documented code — the system can be serviced by another engineer too.
  • Experience at dozens of facilities across Kazakhstan with various types of equipment and tasks.

The cost of programming depends on the complexity of the algorithm, the number of points and the controller type. Describe your task or send us the project — we'll estimate the scope and timeline; the consultation is free.
