Automation systems design (process control / ICS) is the foundation that determines the reliability, cost and schedule of the entire facility. Atlas Scada has been developing design and detailed documentation for the automation of industrial processes and building services since 2015: we turn the client's requirements into a clear, buildable and code-compliant set of drawings.

A well-thought-out design saves money twice: during installation — because there is no rework or extra equipment to buy, and in operation — because the system runs predictably and is easy to maintain. That is why we design not just "to tick a box", but for the facility's real technology, budget and the requirements of the operating organization.

What an automation design includes

  • Technical specification and site survey, collection and analysis of input data.
  • System block diagram and functional automation diagrams (FAD).
  • Schematic electrical diagrams of control and power panels.
  • Equipment, instrumentation and materials list, factoring in availability on the Kazakhstan market.
  • External connection and wiring diagrams for sensors and actuators.
  • Cable schedule, equipment layout plans and cable routing plans.
  • Explanatory note, instrument data sheets, assignments for adjacent design sections.

Design stages — "D" and "DD"

Design documentation (stage "D") is needed for approvals and expert review and describes the main technical solutions. Detailed documentation (stage "DD") consists of the detailed drawings used to actually build the panels and carry out installation. We perform both stages, as well as the detailed documentation alone if the design decisions have already been made.

Design phases

  • Analysis of the technology and requirements, agreeing the technical specification.
  • Concept development: selection of controllers, protocols, level of supervisory control, degree of redundancy.
  • Issuing stage "D" and/or "DD" documentation with detailed work on panels and instrumentation.
  • Agreeing the solutions with the client and with adjacent design sections.
  • Author's supervision during installation and commissioning (on request).

What equipment we design with

  • Siemens controllers (LOGO!, S7-1200, S7-1500), Schneider Electric (Modicon), ОВЕН/Owen (PLC, ПР200), Delta.
  • Instrumentation & control (I&C) devices: temperature, pressure, level and flow sensors; variable frequency drives; actuators and drive units.
  • Networking solutions: Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC UA, Ethernet — for integration into SCADA and supervisory control.

Standards and codes

We produce documentation in accordance with the current GOST standards (series 21 "SPDS", series 2 "ESKD"), the Electrical Installation Code (PUE) and the building codes of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We adapt the scope and formatting to the design stage and the requirements of expert review, and the technical solutions to the real operating conditions.
