Quryq Port — Marine Firefighting System

Restoration of a 2×140 kW pump station, zoned automatic suppression, foam fire suppression for the railway tracks, dispatch integration with the fire brigade, and redundant control.

CLIENT QuryqDURATION 18 daysTYPE Seaport

At the Quryq seaport facility, Atlas Scada carried out the restoration and automation of the marine firefighting system to protect the buildings and infrastructure of the port complex.

System purpose and parameters

The system provides fire safety for 5–10 buildings across the port. At its core is a firefighting pump station with two 140 kW pumps that deliver the head and capacity required to suppress fires in different zones of the complex.

Condition before the works began

The main pump station was inoperable — the automation failed to ensure startup and correct distribution of water supply across the protected zones.

What we did

  • Restored the operability of the 140 kW firefighting pump station.
  • Implemented cabinet-based pump control on the port's shore side with reliable startup and equipment monitoring.
  • Deployed a monitoring and dispatch system feeding into the control room of the port's own fire brigade.
  • Automated the zoned suppression logic: the system identifies the perimeter, opens the required valves, and triggers suppression only in the affected area, without engaging the entire network.
  • Introduced foam fire suppression for the railway tracks running through the port territory.
  • Implemented fully redundant control — from the fire brigade's control room and directly from the pier where the station is located.

Dispatch functions

  • Monitoring the status of pumps and valves.
  • Receiving real-time data on system operation.
  • Remote control of equipment.

Result

The marine firefighting system of Quryq Port has been restored and put into operation. Reliable protection of the buildings and infrastructure is ensured, control and dispatch are automated, and the facility's fire safety level has been raised. Duration of works — 18 days.
