Prosecutor General's Office of the RK — heating substations

Reconstruction of heating substations with a full replacement of automation: automatic control of coolant temperature, protective algorithms, and connection to dispatch monitoring.

CLIENT Prosecutor General's Office of the RKDURATION 6 daysTYPE Government agency

As part of modernizing the engineering systems of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Atlas Scada carried out the reconstruction of the heating substations with a full replacement of the outdated automation. The goal was to improve the reliability of heat supply, the stability of temperature regimes, and to reduce operational risks during the heating season.

What the inspection revealed

  • The automation did not provide precise control of coolant parameters.
  • Part of the equipment was heavily worn, and control was carried out mostly manually.
  • There was no automatic protection against emergency conditions.
  • Coolant temperature was maintained unstably, and monitoring and diagnostic capabilities were limited.

Technical solutions

  • Automatic control of coolant temperature.
  • Installation of modern temperature and pressure sensors.
  • Protective algorithms for equipment operation.
  • The option of future connection to a dispatch monitoring system.

What we did

  • Dismantled the outdated control and regulation components.
  • Installed new equipment: controllers, actuators for the control valves, coolant parameter sensors, and control cabinets built on a modern component base.
  • Performed the work without a prolonged shutdown of the building and while preserving the existing utilities.
  • Programmed the controllers and configured the control algorithms accounting for transient conditions, protection against deviations, and stability under changing load.
  • Carried out commissioning with a step-by-step verification of all operating modes.

Result

  • Stable automatic maintenance of the set temperature parameters.
  • Reduced influence of the human factor.
  • Improved reliability and safety of heat supply.
  • Transparent and manageable operation of the engineering systems, ready for further gains in energy efficiency.
